Trollhättan is in an expansion phase where the city's fantastic location by the river, rich outdoor life, and short commuting distance to Gothenburg and other towns in Västra Götaland are contributing factors to why more and more people are discovering our city.

To meet the demand, particularly for new detailed development plans, we are looking for you who, as a Planning Architect, want to develop Trollhättan together with a creative, engaged, and future-oriented planning office.

The municipality has a high level of ambition and is constantly developing within the area of sustainable development. Tools such as social impact analysis, ecosystem service analysis, sustainability assessments, and design programs help us achieve high quality in our planning work.

We are fully underway with projects that involve a greater focus on, among other things, efforts to reduce residential segregation, rural development, a new lock canal, and increased digitalization. A new central city district that sets a high bar for sustainability; Vårvik, with a new bridge over the Göta River, is being built as a result of years of planning work. Detailed development plans for housing, services, and businesses are being produced continuously. We also work with strategic planning together with the Municipal Executive Board Administration.

Job Responsibilities

In our working method, great emphasis is placed on early stages where you, as a Planning Architect, work in close collaboration with other competencies, often in a project-leading role. We work in project groups unique for each project based on a structured project model that we call the Infrastructure Process. The working method also means that we produce all detailed development plans ourselves.

We work with a number of planning projects of varying complexity and in different stages. For some time to come, we will need the help of a substitute to maintain the pace in planning. Therefore, we are primarily looking for you who have some work experience from detailed planning and/or have completed education in physical planning or equivalent. You will participate in the realization of new urban and societal development projects, primarily through the preparation of detailed development plans.

Previous experience in project management is meritorious but not a requirement. The most important thing is that you have a drive to move projects forward and an interest in influencing the city's development towards a more sustainable and inclusive society. Dialogue with residents, property owners, developers, politicians, and employees is an important part of the work.

As a person, you are comfortable working independently and have an easy time collaborating. You are communicative and solution-focused in your meetings with different actors. You are responsible and contribute with a positive atmosphere in the office and with those you meet in your professional practice.

Qualifications

• A degree primarily in physical planning, but also education in landscape architecture, architecture, or equivalent education is qualifying.
• Good ability to plan, structure, and drive work tasks and projects forward in collaboration with others.

Meritorious

• Professional experience within detailed planning/urban construction.
• Experience of project management.
• Good knowledge of planning and visualization tools, such as Adobe, GIS, and other relevant programs. Interest and knowledge regarding the use of AI, linked to the professional role, is seen as positive.

We place great emphasis on personal qualities and competencies that are advantageous for the role and complement our work group. We would like you to have a driver's license for a car.
